
Bellamy Young (born Amy Maria Young 19 February 1970)[1Bellamy Young is an American actor, producer, and singer. She is best known for her portrayal of Melody "Mellie" Grant in the ABC drama series Scandal (2012-2018). She got the Critics' choice Television Award for Best Supporting actress in a Drama Series in 2014. In 2019, she was a part of the cast in the role of Prodigal Son on Fox. Young started her career as an actor with theatre. Her Broadway debut on Broadway in the year 1997 as Mary in The Life's first cast. Alongside her Broadway debut, she's been seen off Broadway as Mary in Stephen Sondheim's musical Merrily You Roll Along (1994) and Randy Newman's Faust (95-1996). 3][10] She made her debut on TV in 1995, with the character Dr. Courtney Evans, in her role as a frequent guest in the NBC soap series Another World. Both in 1997 and 1998, she was a guest on two episodes on Law & Order. She made her movie debut in 1999 with a minor performance in Black and White, a crime-drama. In the following years, she was a part of many independent movies. Then, in the beginning of 2000, she was invited to guest-star characters on several television dramas and comedies, such as The Drew Carey Show, The X Files, ER, Frasier, The West Wing, NCIS, Medium, Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice, Two and a Half Men, Supernatural, Drop Dead Diva, and Castle. Young has appeared in more than thirty TV programs from 2000 and 2011.
